Stucco texture on drywall

Hi All, what is used on drywall to make this stucco look? I see a lot of this in SW Fl. I am assuming it is a finish and not a type of drywall .

It's usually called knockdown, but with no picture to go on, we can't be sure what "stucco" texture you are describing.

I painted a lot of new drywall in fla in the 70's and 80's. Orange peel was the most popular but knockdown was a close second in new construction. But it could also be skip trowel. Really need a pic to see just what you have.

That's exactly what is,Skip Trowelling, never see much of this up north, but I did check it out on Utube and there are quite a few demo's out there. Thanks for the original description.
