repairing a 23x23 void in the wall
I am relocating an evaporative cooler, and there will be a square hole about 23"x23" that goes right through, so the procedure should be similar to making a wall out of a window
i did keep the drywall section that was removed, but not the outside stucco section as that was destroyed. there is a bunch of foamboard insulation in the existing wall too
i don't have the texturing tool for the paint nor the stucco
would it be more cost effective to just hire some cheap labor for this?

Cheap or good. Different ends of the spectrum. If the stucco finish is all you don't think you can do, frame in the opening cover with sheetrock and finish. We can't see what you see, so we don't know the makeup of the wall. Pictures would help

When you want to match an existing textured finish "cheap" is not the way to go. Framing in the opening and installing the sheetrock can be done cheaply and easily but matching your existing textures will take some skill.

A pic of the wall texture and one of the stucco would help us give better advice on how to match it.

One important thing to do is make sure the new building paper laps under the existing at th top and over th existing at th bottom and that there is sufficient lap on the sides. The woven wire should lap the existing, too it doesn't matter if it laps over or under.
