Seam between backer board and drywall

Remodeled bathroom several years ago. There is a seam between backer board and drywall that I did not tape. The seam now has a crack along the whole length. Wondering if I can get away with easy sand or should I tape it. Trying to prevent the hump as it is in a very visible wall.
Thanks Don

Is it under a bull nose tile piece to end the wall on the drywall or did you break it right at the seam? A light mesh tape, easy sand simple skim and cover with a bull nose transition will handle the issue. Ma have to remove the outer most tile to accomplish.

How close to the bullnose is the crack. I always let my sheetrock run into the wet area by an inch or two to prevent this from happening. The bullnose covers the crack. It may be difficult depending on the proximity of it to the tile. Of course a picture would help.

Seam is a about a foot up from bull nose. I know now I should of had seam behind tile but now is in middle of wall. Right at the 4 foot level. Like I said right in middle of very visible wall.

It may be in a very visible spot but if you feather it out well [texture if needed] the repair shouldn't be very visible.
