Patching and Plastering

Sheetrock seems keeps cracking

I have a shed that I created a room in and had a contractor come and hang sheetrock and then compound the seams. After he was finished several of the seams split. He said he would fix it and he sent someone over to repair the seams. Again after it dried a few days later I went and noticed that although some of the seams are ok a few cracked again. He keeps telling me it is to cold outside. I keep telling him then why don't all the seams crack? My question is why do think the seam keeps cracking and what is the best way to handle the fix? Thanks

I recently gutted a shower down to studs, replaced it with cement board and ceramic tile. Unfortunately the transition from the where the wall stops and the shower surround starts needs some patching. I'm wondering what the best way to go about that is...
