Outside corner transition from cement board to drywall

Trying to figure out how to make a corner look good where it will transition from tile with cement board underneath on one side to painted drywall on the other side, Originally it was all drywall. I removed the corner bead to remove the drywall. Now that the corner is all messed up (see pic) I'm not 100% on what to do. Should I use drywall compound to make a 90 degree angle and then reinstall a corner bead?

You can just tile around the corner onto the drywall with bull nose pieces!

I have a similar transistion with my shower. I installed vinyl corner bead, tile on one side and joint compound on the other. That was almost 1.5 yr ago and it still look good.

If one side of the corner will be tile while the other side will be painted, I would use corner bead, and when you tape and finish it, use setting compound. (It's more water resistant than joint compound.) You need to make sure you get that corner bead arrow straight, since your tile edging or bull nose tile has to follow it. I would check it with a long level as a straight edge.as you install it. I'd use a metal reinforced paper corner... stays a little straighter than vinyl.
