I recently chipped all the paint and a thin layer of plaster of my ceiling do to water damage. I'm wondering what kind of mud I should use from home depot. I'm also wondering if I can get away with using one type of mud or if I with have to use a bonding base layer and then go over that with a 20 or 40 minute setting mud. Had to use plaster washers because the ceiling was sagging.
I am trying to fix my brother's window curtain rod, the handyman did the installation did not do the job right and the middle bracket was just loosely screwed into the drywall.
I tried to install drywall anchor and noticed there is some sort of metal behind the drywall, see attached photo. You can see the metal in the left side of the hole from the second photo.
There is no electric outlet around the window at all, what this metal could be?

I am part of an HOA and our exterior wall that sets the perimeter for the community is in need of repair. There are 36 separate location of cracks. We have the option of filling with exterior commercial grade caulking or injecting with epoxy. The contractor recommends the epoxy as the cracks may reappear over time with caulking. Of course, the epoxy is $10k more. What are your thoughts/expertise on this? Wouldn't the cracks reappear over time due to soil movement even with the epoxy injection? This seems to be more of a cosmetic thing and I wonder if the $10k is worth it.Read More
