How do you get a picture to fit as a 5 x 7 ?

How do you get a picture to fit as a 5 x 7 ?
I have a picture on my cell phone that is 1.35 MB - 3850x1779.
It is a group picture of 6 of us.

I tried to resize it to be smaller, but when I add it to CVS photo shop to print, the photo is cropped for 5 x 7 and two of the guys in the photo are cropped out and it cannot be resized

How can i get this photo sized to fit in a 5 x 7 frame without cropping out anyone or having the picture distorted ?

Try rotating the photo 90 degrees. It's probably trying to print a 5x7 portrait from a 7x5 landscape.

I tried rotating the pic in the CVS editor and it crops it?

You have to do some editing and crop the photo so what you want remains in the photo. Not all pictures can be made to fit a standard photo size or aspect ratio. You may need to print to a larger size, cut the print as you want then cut a custom sized mat or frame to fit the photo.

A photo in Preview (Apple, Mac) can be resized proportionally and cropped if necessary.





In this example the image is stretched. To keep original proportion do not click on padlock.

I was able to have it resized by someone at my work location using photoshop
