Dash Light

I changed out the dash light to my truck a few years ago. It worked fine. Last year, my radiator bursted and sprayed anti-freeze all over. Afterward, the dash light on the left side dimmed. It is not completely out but just more dimmed compared to the rest of the dash.

What could be the cause of this? A fuse?

I have replaced a new radiator myself and it has been working fine.

I'm guessing the bulbs you are referring to are the night time illumination bulbs. The radiator would have absolutely no effect on those dash lamps. If you had gotten anti-freeze into the cluster it would be all over the place including the clear lens.

Did you change all the lamps while the cluster was out ?

The instrument cluster is the plastic housing that contains all the gauges and lamps. There are usually at least 4-5 bulbs that illuminate the cluster at night.

You're talking "dash light", and I think we are interpreting it to be lights in the instrument cluster on the interior of the vehicle. What is a "dash light" to you? I have removed the instrument cluster on my Dodge Ram only to find one electrical connection to a sealed unit. EVERYTHING including tachometer and speedometer are electronic. No cables. Of course the truck is fly by wire anyway, so it doesn't surprise me.

C'mon now...... you're pulling my leg here.

The instrument cluster is the plastic housing that contains all the gauges and lamps. There are usually at least 4-5 bulbs that illuminate the cluster at night.
Would you find the gauges under the hood ???

Your picture is the SAME thing we are discussing. So.....how would anti-freeze get into it ?

Sorry Pete, I lack car part terminologies, not my area of expertise.

It couldn't and that is why I was wondering if the anti-freeze has gotten into the electrical areas under the hood, such as the fuse box. It was flickering on the left side last year. Now, it stopped flickering but it is still more dim than the rest.
