Battery maintenance

Hi All, looking for consensus of opinion on battery maintainers, 🚗 will be in storage for 6 months in HOT Fl. My thought is to remove the 2 year old battery and bring it inside and store it in the cooler laundry room.

I don't think the storage area temps is as important as keeping the battery charged either via trickle charge battery tender or occasionally hooking it up to a charger.

That's a little longer time than I go through with all my summer mowers and cars and I typ just bring them into the basement and hook up a charger before spring.

I've also left them in the car over the winter with no charger and they have fired right up, you could also just hook up a maintainer/trickle charger.

No absolute right or wrong answer!

Trickle charge about twice a month will due the trick. If you buy a solar cell you can let the sun do it for you. No need to remove it. I bought one for my ATV that is kept out at the cabin during summer months. Just a enough daylight seems to do the job.

I have bought cheap battery maintainers but they didn't last. I now have a "Battery Tender" and have had very good luck with it. I disconnect my batteries and bring them into my heated shop which does not get below freezing (Min 35 degrees), wire them in parallel so the tender only sees them as one battery. That way I only need one tender.
