2008 Chevy Colorado air conditioning problem

Air conditioner was blowing hot air

I verified the mechanics of the selector inside the cabin. Everything was working fine.

So I put a jumper at the relay and the clutch engages but when I replace the relay the clutch does not work even if I switch to a new relay. So it seems that the clutch works.

The small pipe coming from the compressor is very hot and the big pipe coming from the compressor is room temperature.

Any help to figure out what could be the problem is greatly appreciate. I'm knowledgeable in some mechanics but this has me stumped. Thanks

the relay on most newer vehicles is controlled by the pcm so suspect the relay isn't being turned on for some reason you could check fuses, and install manifold gauges to check pressure but if there within range, you may need a scan tool to see if the pcm shows that the a/c is on and a good wiring diagram may also be needed to track down the problem.

More than likely your A/C system is low on refrigerant and is keeping the low pressure switch cut off.
Like mentioned....the refrigerant pressures will need to be checked.

Thank you for your replies, I have checked the fuses they are fine , but yes, good point have to verify the pressure range to detect the problem.
