Saddle valve search

The common needle value we use when putting in a ice maker for example; DOES ANYONE MAKE THAT CLAMP ON VALUE WITH A ROUND HANDLE? The small nail size tee handle is a pain, so hard to turn in some instances and found they even bend.....why not a round handle?

Those "tap" valves are a pain in the fingers as well as another part of the anatomy.

Further, they are actually prohibited by some refrigerator manufacturers for use with icemakers and refrigerated water dispensers.

I personally would never use a clamp-on tap valve.

Looked at a fridge from Sears a few years ago. They won’t install a fridge to the plumbing which uses a “tap” valve.

In many areas of the country those saddle valves are no longer approved for use. In some areas they are no longer allowed for use. Every state's code is different.

The new refrigerators require a full port valve for the ice maker. Probably due to the filters these fridges have also..

If a old saddle valve is used the seloniods burn out in no time. I often see that happen in as little as 4 months..

And as well as not being to code anymore in many areas. NJ we cannot use them anymore.. Its been 10 plus years AFAIK...
