Tape for pipe insulation

I bought the black foam pipe insulation tubes that are supposed to be self adhesive, but they didn't stick tight.

What kind of tape should I use to seal them shut?

I was considering duct tape, but worried it will fail over time.

Thank you in advance.

The black foam is meant for condensation lines on air conditioners. More expensive than the gray foam. While both have adhesive strips at their closures, sometimes it helps to give them a little more. Tyvek tape, while not pretty will adhere pretty much permanently. You can either run a strip down the crease, or place circumference strips every foot or so to keep the crease closed.
