Liquid Wrench silicone spray to quiet copper pipe?

Hello all,

I found my copper pipe(hot water) generates some noise due to expansion. The pipe goes through a hole on 2x6 without any gap on one side and generates friction noise when someone uses the shower.

Can I use Liquid Wrench Silicone Spray to lubricate the wood and copper pipe and solve the noise issue?

Thank you

Silicone spray may work but would only be a very temporary repair as the silicone would be absorbed into the wood.

You should be able to move the pipe away from the wood and slide something in like a piece of tubing or vinyl. Something to act as a slide plate. Improvise.

Cutting a plastic food container from the store (yogurt, cool-whip, cottage cheese) and slipping it between the pipe and wood would likely work.
