Washing Machine Drain Hose Routing
For the drain hose coming out of the back of the washer does it need a loop or anything? Or can it be in the shape of a candy cane where it comes straight up back of the washer (from where it's hooked in via factory) then curve a 180 directly into the standpipe?
Got a new washer and the hose is way too long so wanting to cut it but want to make sure I don't mess anything up. Right now it's a jumbled mess behind the washer.

As long as you don't put a pinch into it you can cut it. The top of the drain must be above the water level in washer.

Thanks! Candy cane it is.
Hate having a wadded up mess back there between the drain hose and the water line hoses that always seem to want to curl up in a twist.
