Capacity of 1/2" gas line.
So I have an unused 1/2" line in my kitchen which was designed I think for a starter for the hearth but since I use a chimney starter I've never used the gas line. We're now installing a wood fired pizza oven and would like to install a flamethrower type gas burner as well while we're building it. The burner that is offered as a package from the forge that sells the oven door is rated at 40000 kcal which according to google is 150k btu. Is 1/2 big enough for that? If not, what is the maximum size of burner I can use with a 1/2" pipe?

Since you are on Google already search for the capacity of 1/2" line. You will also need to know the length of your piping from the source.

These are somewhat rough length but close enough. meter flows at 6m3/h.
From the meter 50 ft as 2"
Then this line in cuestión branches out as 3/4 and somewhere in its 20 ft run drops down to 1/2" and the main line reduces to 1 3/4 and runs for about 20 more feet before a half inch branches out to the two hot water tanks and gas dryer. There is a reduction to 1 1/2" before 10 more feet toand a 3/4 inch branch to the stove and oven and the main line reduces to 3/4" before running 20 feet to a 3/4 -> 1/2 reduction and then 2 feet as 1/2 to the furnace.
That's more or less the gas set up. It's not accurate to a T but fairly close. Is 150k BTU in the ball park of whats available?
