PEX in contact with expanding foam

Hi a friend was doing some sheetorcking for me and I noticed that he sprayed some expanding foam directly on some pex pipes. I read online it's not a good idea to do this, but how critical do you guys think it is? And do I have to replace the chunk of pex that was touching the foam or can I just try and remove the foam?

Thanks!

I guess I don't know of any bad reaction between the two but I see professional insulators spray pex all the time where I'm from.

I have had no problem with spray foam on PEX. Fireproofing caulk or foam is even required in some cases where it passes from one floor to another.

Thanks guys. I guess I got some bad info somewhere; I just looked on Dow's site: "GREAT STUFF™ and GREAT STUFF PRO™ sealants have no known compatibility issues with PEX (cross linked polyethylene) piping. Stability of the PEX pipe should not be jeopardized providing the GREAT STUFF™ and GREAT STUFF PRO™ sealants are applied as per manufacturer's instructions around the pipe.

Adhesion, however, is questionable between any polyurethane spray foam and PEX surfaces. Adhesion can be improved by making sure that the PEX surface is clean and dry by applying a quality bonding primer paint to the PEX pipe."
