Leak in Ceiling beneath Bathroom

So for the last couple months...every so often in one spot a drop or two leaked from the bathroom ceiling (not directly under shower). It only happens when someone is having a shower ...and only perhaps every 20th shower....However the frequency has been increasing to the point where it is time to proceed with repair. I will go pick up a drywall knife and open up a square where the leak is coming down......Is there anything based on your experience that I should keep in mind.....like the probability of the source...etc etc

If it's coming from the shower but intermittently...... that would indicate a leak in possibly the tile wall to base seam. If you can find an external problem in the shower (not plumbing) you may not even need to open the ceiling.

Post a few clear well lit pictures of the shower here so we can comment.

Yes, lets investigate before you start knocking holes in a textured ceiling. A picture of the shower would do well to get us started with our troubleshooting.
