New Sink flange not straight

I installed a new vanity and I am having a issue getting the drain attached to the sink, the sink is porclein mounted under a granite top it, it came out of the box mounted. The sink flange is not straight so when I tighten in the rubber gasket squeezes out one side but still has a gap on the other side, I tried just using putty and it still leaks. Is it common for these to be off meaning not perfectly flat/level? I am I going to have to rip the new sink out?

It's not terribly common but I have run into some that were quite bad. If it's not right the easy answer is to return it but I usually find it faster and easier to grind it so it's flush and mostly square. Cultured marble is easy to work with but for porcelain I use a diamond wheel in a angle grinder.
