Should I just remove all this mess?

The top is the tub drain, and the lower part is the sink drain. They will prob be moved to a new spot in the resized bathroom. Would you take out everything where it meets the main stack and redo it with pvc?

Not only should you...pretty sure you HAVE to during a remodel. Based on the fact I can see up through the hole, I'm assuming that's what it is?

Drum traps no longer meet code to my knowledge. Looks like you may have some clearance issues on the top one, will you be able to move it over at all?

Such a shame...look at all those beautiful soldered joints. Don't just trash it after removal...recycle for a few extra bucks. After you hose it out of course.

If the work is permitted you'll need to add some vents. You should vent the fixtures even if you're doing it on the sly.

Agreed, get rid of those drum traps. Unlike P-traps, they are supposed to be cleaned out yearly since they don't auto-clean themselves.
