Is it wise to use copper tubing that's been laying around for a while?

Is it wise to use copper tubing that's been laying around for a while?

I have a few long lengths of copper, 1/2 and 3/4, from previous projects. One is even from about 12 years ago, the rest probably 5 or 6. Is there any reason not to use these in new projects? Should I clean them up maybe?

Thanks

Make sure the inside is clean. Copper lasts just about forever.
No need to clean the outside of the pipe but the ends will need to be well cleaned if soldering.

Thanks, Pjmax. That sounds wise enough.

I would put a garden hose to the end of the pipe to rinse out the inside and remove any spider nests and dirt.
