Dead Leg water quality

We're completing a kitchen remodel. One thing we did is move our fridge to an alcove. Years ago this had a wet bar installed, so already had hot/cold water on capped pipes. The cold has been reconnected to a fridge faucet ready for the fridge.
I read that these sort of capped pipes are called dead-legs and can harbor legionella bacteria.

If I flush this pipe through with X gallons of water before hooking it up to the fridge will the water be ok? Are those water test kits like "AquaVial Plus Water Test Kit" worth using?

The bacteria would have had to come from somewhere it's not naturally in the water.

Just flush the pipes for 5 minutes and everything will be fine!

Do you have well water or city water? The chlorine in city water makes it less of a concern.
