Depends what kind of shutoff it is and what kind of pipe it is. Too vague to answer. Post a picture if you can.

Your google picture link was empty. Try posting to the board...... How-to-insert-pictures
This thread will most likely be moved to plumbing too unless this is boat related.

Does that pipe have white on brown (copper) or brown on white? In other words, is that a copper pipe with white paint on it, or is a CPVC pipe with brown paint on it?

If that pipe is CPVC then it probably would be glued (i.e., solvent was used) into the valve and you would need to cut the pipe to get the valve off.

Then you would glue (i.e., using solvent) an adapter onto the pipe. One end of the adapter would be glued to the end of the cut pipe, and the other end of the adapter would have male threads that would screw into the new shutoff valve.

BUT I AM NOT AN EXPERT AND that could be WRONG! But if that is a CPVC pipe then I think it would have to be a glued connection. But I don’t know what that thing that looks like a nut would be used for if it was a glued connection. Confusing (to me anyway).

Maybe the experts will weigh in.

(looking a little more it does look more like copper)

That must be similar to a Brasscraft sure2connect valve. Is there a brand name on the face of the valve?

See this video at about 2:30.

Wow.... looks like a questionable valve. Doesn't fit tight on the pipe and the flex line is permanently attached. I'd agree it looks like the valve in that video.
