How do I reroute lines from an old water heater to a new one?
I have an old solar water heater that feeds a gas water heater. The solar heater is leaking and needs to be removed. I had a plumber come out and install the new gas heater but he left the water going through the solar and into the gas. How can I remove the water supply from the solar to the gas heater?

There is not enough information for anybody to provide feedback, what type of material are the pipes, where are the pipes located, how does the water flow!
Pictures are extremely helpful!

You should be able to cut and cap the old piping. (Or maybe connect the two pieces together as a bypass.
Can you share a picture or two so we can see what you're dealing with?

I'll assume the water flows into the solar water heater then into the gas water heater. So you're going to remove the water supply to the solar water heater. Break the connection from the solar to gas heater, then connect the water source to the gas heater.
But, yea we need pictures and other info as was requested.
