Water fountain leaking: Testing help

We have this water fountain and it looks like it is leaking at the switch/button or perhaps behind the mounting plate. I wanted to know if I pull the four screws holding the plate, will this cause water to flow and necessitate shutting off the water main? The water main also feeds restrooms and showers so if I need to shut the water off before examining I need to send notices so I wanted to know what your thoughts are.

Removing the four screws should not cause water to leak. The front plate is probably designed to be removed for servicing with a hole in the middle for the button to pass through. So when you remove the cover you'll see the button and the valve behind it. If you are concerned loosen the screws a bit and see if it leaks. You can always tighten them back down, send out notices and shut off the water later. But, you should be able to at least get to the valve without shutting off the water. You will need to shut the water off when working on the valve though.
