Hayward pool heater problems

I am new here and not sure how to post new topic so I will give this a try. I have a Hayward H200FDN pool heater . I am getting error code CE ( communication error ) the heater fires and runs but I can't clear the error so I can't adjust the temp . I have cycled through the modes and powered down and up a couple of times if anyone has any suggestions please send me a private message or post here.

Have you tried disconnecting the power to the heater for a minute?

practically zero pressure at filter

in-ground pool with very old Anthony Apollo filter VA-52 and about 6 year old Hayward Super II pump. With fresh charge of DE pressure is about 7 psi. I shocked pool and pressure went up to about 20 so I changed DE. The pressure continued to rise next day after a party and at night it was back up to about 20 so I was planning on changing DE next day. Started pump next day and the pressure was maybe 2 psi. I shut pump off and on few times and opened a bleeder on top of tank to try and clear debris. Still very low pressure. Took gauge off and no debris found. Checked usual places for low pressure-blocked skimmer-no, pump basket full-no. Fished for debris in impellar-nothing found. Took one way valve off suction line and blew air backwards through lines-nothing came out skimmer but air. The pump comes up on prime and basket is full of water and pump sounds fine, but pressure gauge very low. When open valve, the water shooting out top doesn't seem to have usual pressure so I don't think just gauge issue but trying to rig up something to check that. I replaced DE but no change. Just took grids out and was hoping to find big hole in one of them but have not. Did not take them off rod yet but nothing visible. Pool has debris on bottom, can't tell if just dirt-had 13 kids in pool for 3 hours for party!, or DE? Called hayward and they said not pump if I fished around and didn't find anything. Could impellar be blocked partially? Hayward said no. I tried fishing with wire but couldn't really get it to go into vanes of impellar. Thoughts?Read More

Help with pool diamondbrite deteriorating

Hey guys. So on a step I have in the deep end, I ended up with what I believe was a metal stain from some fertilizer I used in a nearby plant. In an effort to remove the stain my pool guy poured powdered chlorine into the area each week he came by. I also used a hard brissel brush and would try to rub some of it off. At some point I also used a pumice stone. Fast forward a couple weeks and now I see most of the stain is gone however now there are parts that are super bright/clean, however I dont believe this is good. When I rub my hand over it, it feels rough almost like the top layer of the diamondbrite is gone. In my infinity wisdom I used the pumice stone again and it seems like its turning the small spot I did into the same thing. So not sure if its the stone or the combination of chlorine and stone. In any event I want to get advice on how to fix this or make it look as close as possible to normal. I was debating resurfacing however not looking to redo the entire pool for an area that is 1ft x 1ft, although it is quite the eye sore. Any tips for a laymen would be appreciated!Read More
