how to store garlic bulb

I've read articles about..."using a mesh bag and hanging it (garlic bulbs) in a cool dark place with good air circulation". In my small galley kitchen I have darkish places, (very little direct sunlight in my kitchen), maybe kind of cooler areas, but good air circulation???? Other ideas? My garlic bulbs seems to sprout or go bad too soon.

They just mean to let air get to it. IOW, don't put it in a plastic tub or plastic bag. You don't have to hang it. You can put them in a little wire basket or mesh bag in your cabinet or on your countertop in a place that doesn't get sun. You can put them in a paper bag, too. That's what I do. Make sure they're hard and not soft when you buy them. Sometimes they're already old in the store.

I store garlic in a small wicker basket on a kitchen counter top. I have never had it sprout or go bad. Of course we use a lot of garlic so it doesn't hang around for weeks and that is the solution - use it! You can also peel and chop it fine and put it in a jar with some EVOO. Another alternative might be to buy garlic paste in a tube.

As said, store it in a cool dark place and where it gets reasonable airflow. Do not store garlic near fruits which off gas ethylene and causes garlic to ripen.

All depends what you mean by too soon .
For some that may mean a week, to others a mouth etc.

Personally I leave mine in anopen bowl in the kitchen. I've never had it go bad on me before I use it.
