Roofing porch hip roof?

I have to replace the roofing on my front porch. Pitch is about 4"/ft. Porch is not heated. I had mineral surface rolled roofing on it previously. Is there rubber roofing that can be done by a do it yourselfer? Maybe glue down? It is a hip roof ( 3 sided)

Picture would be nice.
Why not just shingle it?

I guesstimated pitch it might be a bit less. Would shingles be acceptable for that pitch? Would rubber roofing hold up better than shingles? I'll take a picture today

We can only go by what you tell us. So far you have told us the pitch is 4:12 which is not low slope.

Even if the pitch is as low as 2:12, you can still shingle it. Low slope from 2:12 to 4:12 requires you to overlap the underlayment more than usual.

Thank you all for your input. Sorry I haven't been back in a while. I've been busy working other aspects of this roof.

Pitch is 2:12

Tried to get a roofer professional in to do it but they can't do it for quite a while. So I'm going to do it my self.

I plan covering roof with Ice shield.

Roof only measures 20' x 6'.

It is a hip roof over an unheated porch.

Shingles would look better than roll roofing.

If I cover the entire roof with Ice & snow barrier would that make shingles OK for this pitch?

I've seen a product call zip system at Lowes. Is something this better for roof a like mine?

I a bit confused how to flash the two angle sides of the roof. I'll take some pics to clarify things.

Yes, but you will need to follow the ice and water shield instructions for low slope, which just means overlapping each row more than usual... usually 6".

No, zip system is sheathing. You probably don't need new sheathing.

Thanks for the reply xsleeper

I had to tear up some of the decking due to rot. Its an old house so decking was 1" thick planks. I shimmed up the rafters ( to make up 1/2" ) put down 1/2" plywood the replace the 1" planks. The I will to completely cover the roof with 1/2" plywood ( or zip system ) to even things out. Just don't know if zip system is overkill since its just over an unheated porch. On the other hand I'm 60 years old and don't want to tackle this roof ever again in my life time

Zip system is overkill if you are putting down ice and water, that's for sure. Personally I think it's just another gimmick.

Thanks for your opinion Xsleeper. I'll probably put down another layer of 1/2" plywood then.
