Help re-attaching downspout drain to exterior
Recently, the metal band that held my downspout extension in place broke. The downspout is now hanging off the side of my house. I made the mistake of trying to fix it the lazy route using caulk (no comments please
). Anyhow, I want to fix this correctly but not sure how and really where to start. It doesn't look like a simple fix but hoping I can get some guidance on the easiest and best way to fix it. Thanks in advance!

Downspout Strap
I would remove the old strap, patch the wall, and add a new strap above or below the location of the old strap.
