Roof addition question - Hip/Valley Roof
Hi!
We are looking to do a couple additions to our home but we seem to have an interesting layout on our roof.
The center of the house has the highest pitch, it then slopes down lower & then one level lower again to the garage roof. We have a couple ideas on matching the garage pitch with the rest of the house but get stuck at not creating an area where the rain would pool. Non-roof experts obviously.
First addition is to expand the house behind the garage. We will knock down the interior wall to the garage and create one large space.
Second addition at the back of the house will be a master bedroom add on. We are going out on the side a little for the master for extra needed room.
Any help would be appreciated. We'll be doing the work ourselves.

Even though you will be doing the work yourselves you will still need permits from your local authority and they will need engineered plans. The architect or engineer who prepares those plans is the one to resolve your questions, s/he needs to be sure it all comes together properly.
