We recently purchased a house built in 1988, and we are having a problem with the hardwood floors in one part of the dining room. It is in a corner, where both walls are exterior. The house is on a concrete slab, with a brick exterior. and there is a good 2" of exposed concrete from the ground outside. I went and purchased a moisture meter, and after a rain this weekend, I measured the moisture in the walls, and I thought I had pin-pointed to source of my problem. However, when I opened the wall from the inside, there was no sign of any water. The insulation was dry. I sprayed the brick with a hose, and still could not see any signs of water getting into the wall that would allow it to get under the floor. When I measure the moisture of the wood floor around the warped area, I get a fairly high reading. As I move away from that area, the moisture reading of the floor is low. I am leaving the wall opened, until the next rain, but would appreciate any suggestions on what else I can check to understand the cause of the floor damage.

I want to try moving it to the red line on the 1st picture. Is it doable?
