Bow window leaking: drip line/gutters?

Because there is some water coming into my bow window, someone went on my roof to try to determine the problem. When I asked him what I should google he said "gutters and drip line issues". The first thing he was going to try was to put a new drip stick on. If this didn't work he didn't know what the next course of action would be. He is not a carpenter by trade, but is better than many carpenters! Unfortunately he alleges he is now too busy to help me. I haven't had much luck with hiring contractors. Two questions-1. Should I hire a roofer or a carpenter; and 2. Any thoughts on what needs to be done. Thanks!

Is there a second floor window above the bow window? If so, I would look there first as the water source.

 

Most roofers can only fix shingles. They are usually pretty poor carpenters. There is not enough information here to reply, so a better description and pictures would help.

 

There is no window above it. The person who looked at it discussed it with me, but it went over my head!
