Shed roof

My she'd consists of two 8x20 trailer truck trailers. Dont ask, was here when I bought the house. They're awesome and sturdy but look like crap and one of the roofs has multiple leaks.
My grand dream is to roof and face them to make them look like a real she'd. I want to build a semi pitched house roof but dont want them resting on the trailers themselves since one day these will rust and rot out and when that happens I'll rip them apart and build a new shed under the free standing roof. I plan on pouring 12" footings and proppi g it up with 4x4 posts.
My question is what size beams should I use going g accross. This will be a 16' span with minimal prop I. The middle from the sheds themselves. I live in CT so snow weight will be an issue.

From my reading everywhere says 2x12 at 16 to 24" spans. I plan on using g strutted 2x4 for the actual rafters

If I propped it in the center of the two trailers, could I get away with 2x6 or 8?

Any tips are appreciated

Thanks
