Leaky mudroom roof- flashing help
Hi everyone, I have a mudroom roof that has been leaking for a while now. I replaced this stretch of roof about 2 yrs ago and started leaking less than a year ago when it is windy and rainy. To be honest it did not leak before I did the roof so it is probably something I did.
I replaced the flashing a few months ago to stop the leaks. I put headwall L-flashing at the top, slid it beneath the shingles along the side of the roof and nailed it to the top of the last row of shingles. I did NOT put caulking on the nail heads or add a shingle overtop of the flashing.
Would caulking and another row stop the water? Is it possible it is getting underneath the L-flashing and I need another type of flashing? Do I strip the roof and look for holes/cracks?
Thanks in advance.
