dimensions of openings in screen under ridge cap?

Hi

Have a metal roof with ridge cap and screened vent. Suspect insects are entering through the screen. What size openings are proper for screen vent under a ridge cap?

And
what is a proper screening material?

Thank you.

What size is the supplied screen ? Usually that is fine for bugs as it's fairly fine.

Ridge vents come with screen because it affects how air can flow through the vent so it's part of the "system" and their specs for airflow. A finer screen generally has a less open area and doesn't allow as much air to pass through. If you are having insects getting into your attic I doubt it's the ridge vent if it's installed properly. I would look for other openings where they might be getting in.
