Window well filling up with water

I have a concrete 48" x 53" egress window well that's fills up with water with enough rain. The water then comes into the basement once the well water reached the window height. There was no drain added when this well was put in. What can I do at this point to prevent it from fling up with water? I thought of either getting a custom cover for it, about $500, or perhaps digging down to the foundation, probably another 3 or 4 ft, and attaching a drain the the perforated pipe running along the bottom of the foundation. The existing foundation piping goes to a small dry well.

Id try post hole digging down and filling with gravel which is cheapest option and go from there!
