Roofing materials

I am looking to get a roof installed soon an wanted to get a idea about how much material ill need.[sqft,]or bundles, etc
The home is 1880 ft an the roof pitch is 4/12..

Also are the asphalt shingles cheaper than metal roof or the newer aluminum shingles?
Im not going to own very long after its done .
Any information is appreciated.

A square [100 sq ft] uses 3 or 4 bundles of shingles [depends on the type of shingle. Shingles are usually cheaper than metal roofing.

Not enough information for calculation of materials. Best practice is typically to get three or more local bids so you can compare and ask questions; there's too much unknown for remote estimation like this to work out the way you'd like.

Yes, the "square footage" of a home does not tell you how many square feet of roof there is. It's best to measure yourself or get several quotes from people who will do the measuring.
