Without going in the garage and finding the bottle I have I don't think Wet & Forget is for stains. It's more for moss removal and doing rather poorly on my roof so far, I applied it twice about 10 months ago and don't see a whole lot of improvement yet.

yeah !at my age never a perfect- regular- day anymore."Wet and Forget"QUESTION;Has anyone used this.....'Roof cleaner with success???you just hook a hose to it- and spray off the algae or what ever that black staining is.
"Wet and Forget"-----before i get up on my roof
The ad on TV shows what it does and i know probably its not that easy to make a roof come clean again

30 second Outdoor Cleaner~ cleaned sidewalk off like new.spray IT~ on and ~~~~~~~~hose within 30 seconds and man the black stains are gone. My roof i think is probably mildew nothin else, But roofs never used to look like it had been sprayed with flat black paint. My vent stacks are all surrounded with this blackish[3]stuff --while below the stacks the original color is great! The stacks look blackish,In fact when you see it they look like someone had poured out this dark color-- and it ran right around the pipe- and strait to the gutters "still"red color ~~ all the way down 6-7' i guess??? bob s

Hope you have better luck with it than I did Bob. I bought it for moss removal and it didn't do anything on my shingles or on a patch of asphalt on the North side of my house.

I used the wet and forget product about two months ago, carefully following the directions. It says it may take up to a year to work and may need a second application. So far, I have seen no improvement. If I could, I would ask for my money back. My opinion is that it is not a viable product.

30 Second Cleaner (rave reviews from almost all my customers), JoMax products, and a few others I can't quite remember the name on the shelf.
I would not recommend Wet And Forget. Rustolium is quickly ruining their name recognition. The Wet & Forget is just a re-market and a slight formula change from the 2 part mix that you can buy at the Dollar Store. And their deck coating 2X, 4X, 6X,10X (class action law suit I believe is still pending) and so forth has been rebranded as Deck Coat and is the same thing as before. It does not work as advertised. I have a tough time steering customers away from the product without right out saying it's no good. But I can't do that!

30 Second Cleaner is just a cleaner right? I'm looking for something that will kill moss on asphalt shingles. I have tried vinegar to change the PH and W&F both with no success. What would you recommend Norm?

From the bottle and web site:Read the specs from this LOWES web page:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/30-SECONDS-...leaner/3556942
If you came into my store I would recommend 30 Second cleaner. Like I said I have customers who swear by it not at it.
If the mold and moss, mildew is so bad you may have to scrap it off. I just put tin over a cabin roof with over 30 years worth of moss growing on it. It was so heavy that rain could not penetrate it. When we scrapped off the layers and it rained that night the inside of cabin was dripping wet. How bad is your situation? If you have a heavy accumulation you may need to make several applications.

At this point I think i am going to leave it alone and hope for a sever hail storm.Sounds like all this tuff is basically money grab.Although the sidewalk--edging i did and it left black edges full length ---this "30 second c;leaner was great. It bleached that sidewalk till it looked new again. So am very happy with that.. Now for getting someone to paint my 2' overhangs --i will find someone who isn't going to take my wife hostage
in their bid/ i will be good to go thanks all bob s

Iam looking into; A class action suit ;to join in.My roof is by "Atlas fiberglass and asphalt shingles"Its in really bad shape for a shingle thats guarnteed for 30 years- mines 20 years old. I lost 10 years In this wear pattern . bob s

Roof warranties are a marketing ploy and nothing more. Any roof (except metal) will only last at best 20 years. Regardless of the warranty. The shingle manufacture will blame the installer and the installer will blame the manufacture. Too many variables.

I suspect roofing warranties are similar to paint warranties. There is always a loop hole for the manufacture to use. The only time I've seen paint manufactures stand behind their warrant was for the high volume customers.

I've used the spray and forget it product from the home big box store. Works exactly as expected, I sprayed down the entire roof in the fall, by the next summer it's totally clean. The black algae spots did return about 4 years later, repeat the process and they're gone again for a few more years. The algae will continue to return as the newer roofing materials, more eco friendly, provide a perfect environment for it to thrive. Not to much you can do except keep up on the cleaning.

Regarding warranties
Yeah, the manufacturers don’t make it easy. Your best strategy is to take one of the shingles and have it tested to determine the cause of the issue. That’s harder for the manufacturer to refute.
