Laying carpet over brand new tile

Hi Guys,

I am in Houston and I have a small problem. There was a miscommunication and my tile guy installed tile in all of the 3 bedrooms upstairs. I would like to have carpet put in.

I have two options.

1)Have my tile guy rip out all the new tile in the rooms and then have the carpet installer come out and lay carpet .

or

2)Have my carpet installer just use Chemrex CX-948 to install the tack strips on top of the tile.

I would love to know your thoughts on this !

Miscommunication?? That is an understatement. I would have questioned you three times, then asked your wife and kids if they wanted tile in bedrooms before I would have laid it. Either method will work, door #1 is a lot more work.

Minor point to prevent frustration in that Chemrex has changed its name and packaging. Here is the updated infor for your files. https://www.amazon.com/MasterWeld-Ta.../dp/B003BS4D0Q

Ask your installer about using the PAM glue. It might be cheaper.
