Hello everyone,
I am constructing a light weight dolly with a plywood surface. I would like to bond a rubber backed carpet mat to the plywood. I have thought about using "contact cement" (non-water base type) or tube "construction adhesive" (Loctite All Purpose type or similar).
Looking for comments on my approach and additional recommendations.
Thank you,
bob

Scotch makes an aerosol spray called 3M Super 77 adhesive. It's a spray contact cement. Widely available and easy to use.
A light coat on the rug. A little heavier coat on the plywood. Allow the glue to dry to the touch.... about 10 minutes.... and then stick together. Wherever it touches.... it's set.
Weldwood contact cement comes in a small jar, pint can or quart and also works very well. It would need to be painted on as opposed to spraying from a can. Also widely available.
