Hardwood Over Concrete

Hi. We have a patio that a previous owner turned into an office. I took up the old carpet and found a plywood sub-floor except at the doorway where there's a section of concrete about 6" deep and 32" wide. The top of the concrete is flush with the top of the plywood sub-floor. If I install hardwood over the plywood, how do I install the hardwood over this small section of concrete? I hope this isn't too confusing.

Thanks for any advice.

Posting a picture would clear it up.
No such thing as solid hardwood-engineered-laminate flooring.
Guessing you mean one of the three different types.
Engineered flooring installed as a floating floor should work subject to what the picture shows.
