Is this a hardwood floor
#1

Hey all,
My mom's house, built in 1962, has hardwood in every room but the kitchen, bathroom, and one bedroom. The one bedroom has carpet. I was planning on replacing the carpet but when I pulled it up I noticed what might be wood flooring but it doesn't look like the rest of the wood flooring in the house. For one, it runs perpendicular to the rest of the wood flooring in the house and it's much wider from what I can tell. Even though it's different than the rest of the hard wood, if it is truly hardwood, I'd probably get it refinished instead of carpeting.
Let me know if you have any ideas. I'm shared out three images. Two are around the vent and one from the top. The area around the vent is what throws me because there is a piece of 1/8" wood that is separated from the rest of what I assume is the underlayment but it also could just be part of the underlayment that separated but that just seems strange.

Thanks in advance,

Looks to me like there's at least three layers of sub flooring.
Old 1 X 6 diagonal pine, then what looks like two more layers of plywood for some reason in the second picture, look close at the fine dark line between the layers.
