Laminate flooring installation: subfloor dipped.

Am planning on installing laminate over raised subfloor. A portion of subfloor has dipped. Deepest is 5/8" and an area about 10'. I crawled under and inspected floor and joists. No gaps. It appears it has sagged or it was built this way. 30 yr old home.

Subfloor is less than inch thick and it bows when i walk on it, so I want to put either osb or 1/4" plywood as an underlayment.

Was thinking to resolve dip either by

1) filling in deep areas with floor felt and then under laminent over it, or

2) install underlaminent, then floor leveler.

Questions:

1) comments/suggestions on either option above and
2) is it ok to use osb vs plywood for underlayment?

Thx in advance!

Dave

1/4" ply will gain you absolutely nothing as far as rigidity or structural strength to your subfloor. My take would be to try to level the dip with a leveler that is designed to go over wood (most are not) and then go over with minimum 5/8" plywood or minimum 3/4" OSB and then laminate. You need a stiff flat floor that does not dip when walked on.
