can I repair a Polyurethane scratch in my hardwood floor?
Hello I recently had my wood floors refinished with Polyurethane over the natural wood (no stain) when I was returning the furniture to the room I made a few scratches in the Polyurethane finish. Can I remove those scratches by lightly sanding the scratches and reapplying a little Polyurethane over the area? Thanks in advance.

First think, try a little automotive rubbing compound, that will work for scuffs like dog nails. Not working, then try a dab across the scratch might be enough to not catch your eye.
Worst case you have to lightly sand and cover the entire board as mentioned!

Keep in mind this is getting much more into the art of wood finishing than science - my former mother in law could probably pull off this repair but it is beyond my level of kung fu.

I forgot to add that the board needs to be lightly sanded so the poly will adhere well.
I don't know much about painting over rubbing compound but suspect you'd need to remove it with paint thinner prior to applying the poly. Not sure the poly would adhere to the rubbing compound.
