Easy Heat thermostat replacement

Our in-floor heating system stopped working. T-stat seems to be fried. The existing t-stat is an FTS-2 (240V) and my wife ordered a new GTS-1 (120V) not realizing there was a difference. Can I use the GTS-1 or do we need a 240V unit?

Welcome to the forums.

No.....those thermostats are dedicated purpose and are not interchangeable.

Thanks. That's what I suspected. We'll return the new t-stat and get the latest 240V model.

I have an EasyHeat thermostat for a heated floor that was installed by an electrician but never turned on. I seem to remember that he had to call a 1-800 number and give the serial number on the unit to activate it for the other thermostats he installed. How do I do that now? I don't have the 1-800 number. Or am I not remembering it correctly and that is not necessary. If that's the case, then the unit won't turn on for some other reason.
