Looking for a recommendation

After 9 days with no air, finally replaced a Braeburn 5020 with a Honeywell! I have a Goodman split system DSXC16 4 ton 16 seer with gas furnace which is compatible with the Comfortnet system. Are these expensive thermostats worth the $400 plus? Does anyone know if they do what they are advertised? After 9 days in August with no air, and an HVAC company that only replaces parts instead of diagnosing the problem, a smart thermostat may help in diagnosing problems. Thoughts anyone?

Communicating thermostats do not operate well with old or buried low voltage wiring.

A smart thermostat doesn't diagnose problems.

If it took nine days for your HVAC techs to find an a/c problem.... it's time to start looking for a new company. Don't waste your money on a thermostat.
