Can't figure out emergency heat for GC-TBZ48

I just moved to a new house and I am trying to hookup my GC-TBZ48 to a heat pump system that has emergency heat. The manual mentions it several times but does not tell me how to wire it. The old thermostat is a rth3100c. The A/C unit label is to faded to read.

Old on left new on right

I need to know where E and Aux should go. Thanks

AUX goes on W1 and E is not used. Tape off E wire.

Welcome to the forums.

If you go to the air handler and check.... you'll usually find the E and aux wires connect to the same point.

You will need to go to Advanced System Settings and turn on the AUX heat.
