Trouble with water supply lines for new faucet install

I'm attempting to install a new kitchen faucet and am in the process of removing the old one. I have spent over an hour trying to remove the supply lines from the faucet using every method I can think of. Heat, all sorts of wrenches and pliers, and I can't get these to budge. Twisting them on their own only causes the faucet pipe to twist with it, trying to brace that while I twist is unsuccessful. Anyone ran into this before? Picture below of what they look like.

Aren't there C clips that slide, to one side? It looks like the top clip is out already.

Make sure the supply's are shut off, open the faucet both hot and cold to relieve the pressure and pull out those metal clips above the nuts.
