can't remove spout assembly from price pfister single handle kitchen faucet

I have a Price Pfister 34-3AL Brookwood single handle kitchen faucet which is leaking and I believe I need to replace the O rings but I can't remove the spout assembly to get to it. According to the instruction guide and videos, you should just be able to pull the spout assembly straight up to remove, but mine will not come off. Are there any tips to remove a stuck spout assembly?

Turn off the water supply valves from under the sink. Raise or open the faucet handle by pulling up. Pry off the handle button and using either a hex wrench or Philips screw driver (depending on the type of screw) remove the set screw from faucet. Then pull straight up and turn the dome cap counter clockwise. Pull spout straight up and out.

If it is stuck on it may be corroded from lime deposits. Try and force some CLR or LIME-AWAY using a tooth brush. You might want to use some P-B Blaster.
