Repairing stainless steel sink insulation

I had a significant piece of insulation material come off my stainless steel kitchen sink. See attached pictures. I am wondering if I can just glue it back on, and if so, what glue do you recommend. Any suggestion on how to get pressure on the patch while the glue is setting?

A good quality double sided foam tape will work. You could also use adhesive pads.

Contact cement is also a viable solution. I like Pliobond and also Weldwood contact cement.

You brush it on the sink and the piece that fell off. Allow the glue to just about dry. It should be dry to the touch. When you put the piece on the sink..... it's done. No need to hold it.

Thanks. I had not thought of contact cement. Will it be OK with the range of temperatures that the sink encounters?

Absolutely. Contact cement is very tough.

Sealing a lav drain to the lav, what to use?

OK, I went to get plumbers putty to seal the drain to the sink and the home center person said to use silicon, nobody uses plumbers putty any more? I'm asking here, because in general I avoid straight silicone, preferring pro level caulks that may have silicon in them, but are more workable, easier to clean up and so on. Replacing a shower drain

Hi guys, I had a problem with leaking on the first floor ceiling caused by the shower drain on the second floor. I cut up the damage area on the ceiling for easy access, removing, and reinstalling the new shower drain. The old shower drain and the pvc pipe were really tight, so I cut them up for removal. FYI, shower pan did not get damage in the process Materials I am using 2 IN shower drain from home depot Model# 828-2PK [ATTACH]71200[/ATTACH] 2 IN pvc pipe 2 in x 2 in pvc "flexible" connector (the one with screw on both end for tightening) purple primer and red hot blue glue plumber's putty My questions are: 1. When to remove the excess putty after applying and putting down on the shower drain in place (remove right away or wait till it gets dried)? 2. When to tighten up the lock nut on the shower drain from the bottom? 3. Do I remove all of the excess putty from the bottom on the thread before tightening the lock nut? 4. How to keep the shower drain from moving when tightening up the lock nut? I tried tightening but the whole shower drain moved 5. (please refer to image below) Where to apply purple primer and red hot blue glue? between the inner caulking gasket and the pvc pipe? between caulking gasket and drain basket? Between the caulking nut and drain basket? 6. Is 2 in x 2 in pvc "flexible" connector the right part for connecting the pvc pipe on the other end?
