Shower pressure suddenly increased

I have a Delta Shower/tub faucet, Model T17455, that suddenly started having a lot more water pressure than it used to. ("Suddenly" meaning it just started one day and has been like this for about a month now)

I have not seen any pressure increases in the rest of the house, so i'm pretty sure it is not just a general pressure change.

Apparently this model has a "Volume Control" feature, and I have also read that shower heads might have water "restrictors" that could break? I am hoping someone here can help me understand better how to trouble shoot this.

My guess is that I need to replace a restrictor, or cartridge, or something, but i'm not sure how to start determining the issue.

According to delta customer support it is a bad cartridge or cartridge adapter.. so i picked those up and i'll give it a try.
